Cardiac Medical Yoga Training

The Cardiac Yoga Teacher Training Program is an internationally renowned certification program designed to educate and train medical personnel and yoga instructors to work with cardiac patients and their spouses in the area of Lifestyle Medicine and Medical Yoga. Participants in this comprehensive training program learn how to adapt the basic concepts of medical yoga, lifestyle medicine, and stress management to the special needs of the cardiac patient and their spouses.

Instructor

M. Mala Cunningham, Ph.D., C-IAYT

is a leading speaker, educator, and trainer in the field of Lifestyle Medicine, Health Psychology, Neuroscience, and Medical Yoga. Her passion is creating a bridge between medicine, psychology, neuroscience, yoga, and mindfulness. Dr. Cunningham is the Founder and Director of the renowned training programs Cardiac Medical Yoga; Hospital Bed Yoga; and Limited Mobility Yoga. She is on the faculty of the University of Virginia School of Nursing and is also the President and CEO of Positive Health Solutions.


Dr. Cunningham has a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin / Madison in Counseling Psychology and did post-doctoral work in Health Psychology & Behavioral Health. She has a private practice in Charlottesville, Va. & has also been a business and hospital consultant for over 25 years.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the course start and finish?

Access to the Cardiac Medical Yoga Teacher's Training Course will begin as soon as you are accepted into the program and have signed up and paid for the course. All course materials must be completed before the start of the clinical training. The 2020 clinical, onsite training is November 13 - November 16, 2020. As such all online training needs to be completed before arrival on November 13th. Thank you.

How long do I have access to the course?

After enrolling, you have until the day before your first day of clinical training to finish the tests and the course material. Of course, we recommend that you not hurry through the course material, but instead give yourself time to integrate the ideas, concepts, theories, and research so that you will then be ready for the clinical training.

What is your cancelation policy?

Even if you have received an acceptance notice, your place is not secure in the course until your full tuition is paid. Please register early as there is limited enrollment. Refund Policy: If you cancel 45+ days prior to the start of the program you receive a full refund minus the $35.00 application fee and a $75.00 administrative fee. Canceling 30-44 days prior to the start you receive a full refund minus $350.00. If you cancel 20-29 days before the start of the program you receive a refund minus 50% of the total program fee. Canceling 19 days or less before the program you receive a refund minus 75% of tuition. No refund is possible after starting.

How long do I have access to the course?

You will have access to the online course from the time of enrolment through to the end of the on-site clinical training.
